The Broadway reopening of Donald Margulies' Time Stands Still is set for October 7 at the Cort Theatre. As previously announced, the show’s original stars Laura Linney, Brian d’Arcy James and Eric Bogosian will reprise their roles with Christina Ricci taking over the role of Mandy, which was previously played by Alicia Silverstone. Directed by Daniel Sullivan, the return production will begin performances on September 23.
Time Stands Still centers on Sarah and James (Linney and James), a photographer and a journalist who have been together for years and share a passion for documenting the realities of war. But when circumstances compel them to return home to New York and their circle of friends (including a couple played by Bogosian and Ricci) the adventurous couple confronts the prospect of a more conventional life.
The show originally opened at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre on January 28, 2010 and earned two Tony nominations (Best Play and Best Actress for Linney).
The Cort's current tenant, the revival of Fences, will end its limited engagement on July 11.
